Routing
Routing is the heart of Neurode MIDI: take messages from one place, optionally transform them, and send them elsewhere. Think of it as a patch bay for your performance rig.
Basic Route
A route is a simple connection:
Source -> DestinationYou can create routes in the Routing view by selecting a source and a destination. The connection line represents the active route.
Channel Routing
Routes can be channel-specific or omni:
- Channel routes: Only pass a specific channel
- Omni routes: Pass all channels
This is how you split a keyboard, stack instruments, or isolate control messages.
Transforms in the Path
Add transforms to shape your MIDI before it reaches the destination. Common uses:
- Transpose a melody
- Compress velocity for softer dynamics
- Filter CCs to prevent accidental modulation
Transforms can be stacked in the order you want, creating a signal chain.
Flow Graph
The MIDI Flow graph visualizes routes and activity:
- Connections light up as messages pass through
- Each node shows live activity rates
- Tap to expand for a full-screen view
It’s the quickest way to validate a routing idea before a rehearsal.
Where to find it: The MIDI Flow panel sits alongside the Routing Matrix in the Routing tab, and can be expanded with a tap.
