Routing to Multiple Synths
Layer sounds or split responsibilities by routing one source to multiple destinations.
Goal
- One keyboard
- Two or more synths
- Optional per-destination transforms
Step 1: Create Multiple Routes
- Select your keyboard source.
- Create a route to Synth A.
- Create another route to Synth B.
Now both synths receive the same notes.
Step 2: Differentiate the Layers
Use transforms to give each synth a distinct role:
- Transpose one layer up an octave
- Velocity Scale to soften a pad
- CC Filter to prevent mod wheel from affecting the bass layer
Step 3: Optional Channel Split
If you want to address each synth on its own channel, add Channel Remap to the route.
Step 4: Save the Rig
Save the configuration so you can recall it before a session or gig.
Musical Ideas
- Bright lead + warm pad
- Piano + string layer
- Bass + sub layer on a separate channel
