Routing to Multiple Synths

Layer sounds or split responsibilities by routing one source to multiple destinations.

Goal

  • One keyboard
  • Two or more synths
  • Optional per-destination transforms

Step 1: Create Multiple Routes

  1. Select your keyboard source.
  2. Create a route to Synth A.
  3. Create another route to Synth B.

Now both synths receive the same notes.

Step 2: Differentiate the Layers

Use transforms to give each synth a distinct role:

  • Transpose one layer up an octave
  • Velocity Scale to soften a pad
  • CC Filter to prevent mod wheel from affecting the bass layer

Step 3: Optional Channel Split

If you want to address each synth on its own channel, add Channel Remap to the route.

Step 4: Save the Rig

Save the configuration so you can recall it before a session or gig.

Musical Ideas

  • Bright lead + warm pad
  • Piano + string layer
  • Bass + sub layer on a separate channel
