Troubleshooting
Quick fixes for the most common Neurode MIDI issues.
No Devices Showing Up
- Ensure the device is powered and connected.
- For macOS, open Audio MIDI Setup and confirm the device appears.
- In Neurode MIDI, use Refresh Devices from the routing menu.
No Sound, But Activity Is Visible
- Confirm the destination app is running and listening for MIDI.
- Make sure the destination is set to the correct channel.
- Check for transforms that might be filtering notes or velocity.
Notes Are Stuck
- Use the PANIC button in the top bar of the Routing tab.
- Check for sustain pedal CCs stuck on.
Latency Feels High
- Remove heavy transform chains.
- Avoid scripting for high-density streams unless needed.
- Close other MIDI apps that might be competing for resources.
My Routing Looks Right But Nothing Happens
- Verify the source is actually sending MIDI.
- Confirm channel matching between source and destination.
- If using a virtual port, make sure the other app is connected to it.
Still Stuck?
Use the Event Visualizer (Tools tab) to confirm MIDI is arriving, then check the MIDI Flow panel for route highlights.
If the visualizer is blank, confirm Settings → Enable Visualizer is turned on.
